it would be great if u could update the github to
Really useful! thanks!
I love this. But, I also love all your stuff so far.
I wonder if you could do something like this but make something like Nordic runes where they can be slanted and look hand drawn. I am not sure if something like that is possible with the randomness of the images.
This could be good if you are trying to make a new script for either an existing language or a fictional one.
you should definitely remake this one with new widgets and aspects. this is great for a dnd setting
what is the hex colo(u)r of the background? interested in it.
I almost had a heart attack when I looked quickly at the image and saw that there was a symbol that resembles a bad thing
Not sure how tricky it was to build this, but I rather like it. Thank you.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It's a great idea but the alphabet function only gives 24 symbols, not 26. which is a bit annoying but it isn't the end of the world.
Thank you. This is runes of an imaginary language (if it's even a language) so there can be any number of runes in a set :) To be honest, the value of 24 was chosen to more conveniently display glyphs as a 6x4 table. I am considering creating an expanded version of the generator with much more diverse glyph shapes and, of course, an ability to specify the number of symbols per alphabet.
assuming you are using english you can remove the letter 'F' and replace it with a PH, and you can remove one of these 3 'C' 'S' or 'K' without sacrificing any sounds the english language makes. at least, that's my plan anyway.
It's been 4 months. I've moved on
Something that I've seen people do before is to make I/J and X/Y be the same letters so that all 26 english alphabet letters can fit into a 24 character runic alphabet.
need I say more
this is the definition of a developers Life hack
I am curious as Haxe (from my understanding) can output code in multiple languages is there a possibility that this could be compile to C++ or C#?
I'm not sure about C#, but yes, Haxe code can be compiled to C++. That's actually how building for Android and iOS works.
I wonder how hard it would be to output this as a font file... This thing is very cool, even for a toy.
I haven't been keeping track of all your generators recently but by gosh, these are still so ingenious and convenient for me! I will definitely refer to many of them, including this rune generator in the future! Keep on being awesome Watabou ~
Hey. I find this project really cool and was wondering if I can use symbols generated here in my own projects.
Cool tool, i would love to see the source code for this (and for the map generator)
Very useful and stylistic generator as always!
Hey, if you're not looking to develop this any further, would you be able to release the source code? I'm sure people would love to keep working on this to add new features, myself included!
I will consider it. I need to check how bad is the code - it was written too long ago.
Just ran across this tool. Thank you for this! I wanted to throw my vote in for source code, I would love to see how this was made!
+1 To source code release.
Also +1 for source code release, interested in seeing how you approached this.
A piece of great and very inspirational work.
Question: The runes are all unique in the table generator?
This has some serious "The Messenger" vibes!
Once again you knock it out of the park. Always impressed with your work.
Numbers and some common punctuation maybe?
Also a view with key info 'A = rune' please?
Thanks no matter what!
watabou, you deserve more recognition. Thanks for everything
Oh brings back memories of the Fez game...
Inspiring as always, thanks Watabou! :D
This is awesome. Not much to it but very cool. Would be awesome to have different sizes too.
Curves and circles would be good, as well as dots and other diacretics. But a really great start - as usual from watabou
Need to do one with circles but neat stuff!
Oops, forgot to remove this one from the list :)
Wicked generator, man.
Watabou, if you don't stop pumping these out theres going to be no proc gen left to do for the rest of us. Love your work man keep it up
